The Story:

  • Dolfi, Jelli and Listo each forget to use their manners at the table and while playing with friends.
  • Good manners are listed – say Please and Thank You, Wait Your Turn, Share, Be Kind, Control Your Temper, No Hitting, No Hurting, No Pushing, Don’t Shove.
  • When all of the characters use good manners on the carousel, they all get along well.
  • The story ends with a reminder to eat with your mouth closed and say please and thank you.

What We Learn:

  • Children learn which behaviors display good manners, and some behaviors that display poor manners.
  • Everyone forgets to use good manners sometimes, but we can keep learning and trying our whole lives.
  • Using good manners helps everyone get along better.

Why it is Important:

  • Dolfi and Jelli display poor manners at the table, much like many young children do. Children learn by watching this that they can keep trying to do better.
  • When Listo grabs toys from his friend, he learns that these poor manners hurt his friends and that he can try to use good manners instead.
  • Children of all ages need to be taught the manners that are expected to be used so that they can practice and keep getting better at their good manners.
